I had a great time at the Ohio Valley Gathering last week. And if you were
there, I hope you had a great time too.

To me the Ohio Valley Gathering is the official kickoff of the Festival
Season*, and this year more than ever. I'm already jumping into two great
festivals before the month is even out.

The Mountain Empire Community College has been a regular Johnny Appleseed
for the dulcimer, and this year they're adding intermediate and advanced
dulcimers to their "Gathering of Sweet Folk" event on Saturday. I'll be
teaching there this summer as part of a week-long event as well.

Then next weekend the Chattanooga Dulcimer Festival is back! Dan and Angie
have designed this year's festival to be a small and focused affair, with a
limited registration that is nearly sold out. But still, despite the small
class sizes, the festival features Steve Seifert, Aaron O'Rourke and
myself. Even if I wasn't on the bill, I'd have to think about going!

I also always use OVG as an excuse to get off my butt and make some new
product. I've debuted pretty much all my books, as well as my last 2 CDs
there. This year was no exception; I released a new book of Beatles songs
for the Ukulele. This two sections: A simple strum and sing version of the
songs, as well as comprehensive finger style arrangements for the Ukulele.
That makes this book perfect for Uke players of any level. I'll have it
available for sale on my web site soon, so what this space!

Okay that's all for now, more stuff coming. Hope you all have survived the
winter and I hope to see you soon.

C-ya out there.

*I just learned yesterday that for Ohioans, it's the Buckeye Festival that
starts the season.
